EG Cohen Medal.
Our History.
In 1924, Perth architect Eustace Gresley Cohen established an award for graduating architectural students.
This award remains in place today as the EG Cohen Medal and is managed by his architect grandson Philip Gresley with much appreciated support from the AIA.
The medal is awarded to students (one for each university offering architectural courses) who have achieved excellence in academic results and also demonstrated a spirit of unselfishness to their fellow students.
In 2018 more than 35 previous winners were brought together at a social gathering and led by Philip Gresley, and supported by former medalists Sophie Giles and Daniel Martin with an aim to enjoy a shared history but to also determine interest in using the resources available to the group to conduct charitable acts in the community – related to the built environment professions.
This meeting led to the formation of Cohen Connect.
